Equipment Requirements

Each girl will need a field hockey stick, goggles, colored mouth guard, and shin guards. Cleats are also recommended for the grass. Turf shoes or sneakers can be worn when playing on the turf.

Her Game or Longstreth provide expert service.  Amazon, Dicks Sporting Goods, and Modells also offer starter packages.  If purchasing new goggles, please make sure the ASTM 2713 is marked on the goggles.  This will be a requirement for all players in the 2021 season. Field hockey goggles must have the front vertical bar.

Players will be issued a returnable jersey and a skirt. In addition, parents will need to supply a white long sleeve shirt and black leggings to wear in colder weather.

Uniforms:

All Players will receive a reversible tank and skirt, which must be returned after the final game of the season. Girls should wear white tops (sports bra, tank top, long sleeve) and black bottoms (shorts or leggings) with her uniform.  Any color sock is fine.

Note – WE KNOW UNIFORMS RUN SMALL. We have done everything to adjust registration to help align uniform sizes with player sizes. The returnable uniform sizes overlap between a Youth Med/Lg and Adult XS/Sm and the skirts can run small. Sizing dimensions were included during registration. We did the best to order additional uniforms in larger sizes that would still fit players based upon registration selections.  If your player’s uniform does not fit, please try to switch with someone on your team.

Team Selection & Registration

Teams will be selected by the head coaches in each age group around Sept 9th practice. Teams will be selected to create even teams by skill and grade level. Please do not request friends to be together. It is difficult to create even teams without the constraint of trying to match friends. The age groups will practice together. Additionally, the age groups will play against each other in games.

We attempt to place every girl interested in playing on a team. However, registration is solely limited by the number of coaches we have. Therefore, if you would be willing to volunteer to coach or assistant coach a team, please let us know. We would love to have you! The more coaches we have, the more teams we can have, and ensures that every girl that wants to play lacrosse can!

NOTE: Please be aware that NO refunds will be processed after registration period closes.

AGWFH uses TeamSnap to share game schedules, track attendance for practices, and potential communication.

Additional Info

Weather Cancelations

Weather-related practice cancelations will be made as close to 4:30 pm on a practice day and game cancelations will happen at least 60 minutes prior to the scheduled game time.  For the older girls, we will likely play in the rain as long as it is safe and not miserable since we play on turf!  Cancelations and changes will be by email, text or through the app.

Spirit Wear

An online spirit wear sale will happen in early September.  Look for an email soon!

Registration Refunds

Please be aware that NO refunds will be processed after registration period closes.

Parent Meeting

Takes place at the start of the season – uniforms passed out at this time.

End-of-Season Parties

If we can have a party, it will occur at the last practice and will be planned by coaches.  We are requesting a parent volunteer(s) at each age group to organize a snack, it would be greatly appreciated.  Parties are self-funded.

Team Managers

Please consider volunteering to help assign home game set-up/tear-down jobs, collect uniforms at the end of the season, and potentially plan an end-of-season party.

Fund Raiser

We are looking for a Fundraiser Lead to plan activities for the future.

Wildcat Night

A fun night for the girls to watch a Varsity Field Hockey game and run onto the field at half time.  Team and individual photos are taken prior to the game.
